John is also a senior lecturer in the Department of Architecture. He is especially interested in graphical representation and communication, and their relationships with language and reasoning. His interests also focus on education, and on decision support for design practice. Current and recent research project topics include: representation for teaching of problem solving in schools (McDonnell Foundation); supporting designers' use of web-based product information (EPSRC MNA); the synthesis of web sites from formal problem descriptions (EPSRC); and graphics and language in communication (ESRC/EPSRC PACCIT).
