The DIRC project has from very early in its existence organised a series of external workshops which have helped disseminate its results and, in turn, stimulate the project with new challenges.

The challenge of creating interdisciplinary collaboration has been faced by a very large number of meetings between disciplines and sites. The official internal annual conferences have been a major checkpoint of progress.
